1931 WOODEN JIGSAW - H.M. YACHT BRITANNIA
This lovely, thick wooden jigsaw is from the early 1930s. The subject is His Majesty's Yacht Britannia from a painting by A. Chidley (Signature can be seen bottom left among the waves). It comprises of around 400 pieces and is complete as can be seem by the photographs.
It measures 54 x 33.5cm and is generally in very good condition. The white border has some foxing.
There is printed information on the white border on the bottom which says:
221-ton Cutter, the property of H.M. King George V, built at Partick in 1893, re-rigged in 1931. Copyright and published by John Harrap & Son, The Picture House, 3 Holborn Building, London EC1
The pieces are both interlocking and push together - please see the details of the sails in the photograph.
A rare and lovely item in its original box which says British and Best.
