JAQUES WORD MAKING & WORD TAKING - 19TH CENTURY ALPHABET GAME
True to JAQUES' style and prolific production of a great variety of games, this simple ALPHABET game for the instruction of young children, is housed in a beautiful mahogany, slide-top lidded box with a colourful label to the top.
Masters of the presentation of their games, this alphabet example was produced under their name of J Jaques & Son London - before they adopted 'Ltd' and so this dates it to before 1890.
The box measures 15.x.10.5 x 6 cms and contains roughly 250 card pieces with letters of the alphabet to one side. The card pieces have been used but are in good condition for age. The box is in excellent condition for age - along with the label.
