ESCALADO - HORSE RACING TABLE GAME 1950s/1960s, Chad Valley
One of about six different versions of the popular game by Chad Valley, this one dates from the late 1950s/1960s.
The example seen here is available for sale at the time of uploading on 7.5.2017. Every example sold by Donay Games is necessarily in a different condition (box, track, paint on horses) according to the wear and tear, but is always complete, unless otherwise clearly stated. And the horses will have no broken legs and when possible all tails present.
This example is in very good condition and has with it the earlier, heavier and more detailed painted metal horses. This must have been a cross-over with the the remaining horses from the old 1950s box design being put in the new red-boxed design, before the slightly lighter single-colour metal horses were put into production.
The track is almost pristine and the two punched green strips are already attached to the end of the track, rolled up inside.
An excellent example.
N.B. Examples of the 1950s boxed set are normally available. These usually have heavier and better painted horses than the 1960s example. PLEASE do not buy the green boxed versions with plastic horses which fall over. They cause disappointment when bought as nostalgia presents for friends and relatives. Stick to the earlier versions found here.
