GERMAN CLOCKWORK TINPLATE SHUNTING TRAIN C 1930s
'Made in Germany" c 1930s and measuring 14.75 x 1.5 x 2.25 high (37 x 4 x 5.75 cms) this is an excellent example of an early 20th century piece of clockwork tinplate. The station with it's entrance hall, waiting areas, shops and shunting shed all made out of colourful and detailed off-set litho printed tinplate. When the key to the top is wound the train pulls the carriage, turns 180 degrees and then pushes the carriage the carriage into the shunting shed where it again rotates and once again pulls the carriage. Fascinatingly repetitive. Ask for video clip to fully appreciate.
