THE SILVER BULLET GOLF DEXTERITY PUZZLE BY R JOURNET - HAND HELD GAME CIRCA 1930
Originally in an outer cardboard box for protection (sadly missing, as so often is the case with these), which carried the title, 'THE SILVER BULLET GOLF GAME', it has survived without damage apart from some very minor wear to the coloured paper edges.
It is one in a series of the famous R. J. Series of Puzzles which were first produced around 1900 and continued into the 1960s. But few of this large format (22 x 16 cms) were produced.
Beautifully illustrated with images of the golf course it has a three-dimensional, contrasting course with various pitfalls that might befall the player. - rough ground, bunkers, ponds., etc. The object is to manoevre the ball bearing around the course, avoiding these hazards to arrive safely in the Club House - for a drink!
A collector's item, but also great fun to let older children play - supervised - on high days and holidays.
