GOOGLY CRICKET CARD GAME Circa 1940s

£42
(ID: 10862)

This rarely found cricket card game by Smith and Hallam of London, was produced in the late 1940s and the graphics depict players in garb maybe more associated with the 1920s. Wonderfully quirky graphics.

Googly can be played in teams of eleven a side or any number below it, down to one a side (i.e. patience). The team scores range from totals as low as 60 to as high as 550. Matches should be of two innings each side, the winner being the side which has scored most runs after four completed innings, or has dismissed its opponents.

N.B. The box pictured is an image from a previous example sold from this site. The example for sale here has a trade label to the right-hand corner and there is age-related rubbing to edges. However, box complete and generally clean with no tears or missing sides.

The cards are complete and in clean condition with no creases or tears. The rule book and score sheets are original to the set.
